Creative Partnerships is funded by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) with the Department for Education and Skills (DfES). It is currently managed by Arts Council England but is in the process of transition to management by an independent national organization focused on creativity, culture and education. |
| |
Creative Partnerships (CP) aims to demonstrate the pivotal role creativity can play in transforming the way young people engage in learning across every curriculum area. The programme supports thousands of innovative long-term partnerships between schools and creative professionals – from architects to scientists to multimedia developers and artists. Young people develop the skills they need to perform well not only in exams and extra-curricular activities, but also in the workplace and wider society. |

Sero has managed the CP programme for the Barnsley, Doncaster and Rotherham region since 2006 and is now working on a new phase of activity from 1st April 2008, drawing in a wide range of new primary, secondary and special schools to the programme, including:
30 Enquiry School projects addressing specific questions of creativity in teaching and learning over the period of a year;
18 Change School programmes working over three years to explore the role of creativity as a driver for whole school change.
Our work as a CP Area Delivery Office embraces management of a team of Creative Agents who work with schools to plan, support and evaluate these creative learning projects, as well as contributing to regional and national collaboration across the Creative Partnerships programme to share ideas, reflections and practice.

Sero specialises in developing creativity in teaching and learning working with professionals from the cultural, creative and digital industries and harnessing the use of new technologies. We bring particular expertise in understanding how the use of technologies and digital skills can support learning innovation, creativity and enterprise across the curriculum and across different learning communities. We apply this understanding to our work in Creative Partnerships and it helps us to work strategically with schools, creative partners and young people to develop and reflect on new ways of working. Reflection is fundamental to the Creative Partnerships ethos, and our involvement in national and regional research and evaluation activities gives us breadth and depth of perspective to help capture and interpret the impact of the programme. |
