Using a robust selection framework which we designed at the outset of the project, Sero was responsible for horizon scanning and selecting industry partners for the Digital media and ICT Vendor Alliance (DIVA) programme. This framework enabled us to define partnership activities with each vendor and to establish links with education lead centres in order to cascade expertise. Our communications team provided a mix of support, including web, print, PR and event management. Twelve global vendors were engaged in the programme including Apple, Adobe, Autodesk, Avid, Cisco, CompTIA, Computerprep, IBM, Microsoft, Oracle, PTC and Serif.

The evidence presented in this evaluation shows that DIVA is a strong project that has contributed significantly to Scotland’s portfolio of qualifications. From the perspective of some of its stakeholders, including commercial ICT vendors, DIVA is an example of ‘global best practice’ in collaboration between the education sector and industry.
