ict active aims to promote buildings that are ICT capable, as well as encouraging developers and workspace owners to design and maintain desirable buildings. The scheme also makes it easier for purchasers or tenants to specify the ICT infrastructure that they require in a building. ict active is a unique accreditation that celebrates and publicises buildings which are ICT friendly therefore making them hot property.

Working alongside W2 Networking, Sero managed and developed the framework for the project and was responsible for drafting the Action Plan In the subsequent contract, Sero is responsible for management and marketing of the Action Plan, whilst W2 will conduct the surveying and accreditation of buildings.

ict active has two main goals, which are:

• To create a guide that sets out best practice options for making ICT friendly buildings, with an assessment scheme to back it up so that accredited buildings can be celebrated and publicised.
• To arm purchasers and tenants with a shopping list of criteria that can be used to search out premises with the level of ICT facilities that match their requirements.

In order to achieve these goals W2 will carry out technical surveys on buildings which are seeking the accreditation to determine the capabilities of their ICT infrastructure. Once a facility has gained accreditation it will be publicised and listed on the ict active website which will help match potential tenants to suitable, accredited buildings.

Our aim is to create a convention that can be scaled and adopted across the UK.
