Background: |
In 2005 all four South Yorkshire Metropolitan Districts successfully bid for European Regional Development (Objective 1) Funding to resource Family e-Learning development. Each MDC worked independently; Sheffield’s range of activities included the distribution of laptops to families in north and east Sheffield, a wide range of specially commissioned courses and activities, close links with primary schools and an active website (see link below). The study provided a summative evaluation of the complete project, running alongside an internal evaluation. |

Our approach was based on three key features:
- Designing methodologies based on a detailed understanding of the project.

Applying quantitative as well as qualitative measures
- Applying an e-Learning Effectiveness Framework designed by Seb Schmoller with Sero

Working in close liaison with project staff and the internal Sheffield evaluation
