Project:
Evaluation of the Family e-Learning Project
Yorkshire Alive With Opportunity Logo
Client:
Sheffield Adult & Community Learning Unit
Background:

In 2005 all four South Yorkshire Metropolitan Districts successfully bid for European Regional Development (Objective 1) Funding to resource Family e-Learning development. Each MDC worked independently; Sheffield’s range of activities included the distribution of laptops to families in north and east Sheffield, a wide range of specially commissioned courses and activities, close links with primary schools and an active website (see link below). The study provided a summative evaluation of the complete project, running alongside an internal evaluation.

Our contribution:

Working with Seb Schmoller we undertook methodology design, research, interviews, analysis and report writing

Our approach:

Our approach was based on three key features:

  • Designing methodologies based on a detailed understanding of the project.
  • Applying quantitative as well as qualitative measures
  • Applying an e-Learning Effectiveness Framework designed by Seb Schmoller with Sero
  • Working in close liaison with project staff and the internal Sheffield evaluation
