Project: |
Business
development services for Sheffield
College ‘Skills for Business’ Programme |
 |
Purpose: |
To establish The
Sheffield College’s Skills for
Business industry training arm, which
is seeking to revolutionise the FE
approach to workplace development. |
Our
contribution: |
Sero inputs to
the Skills for Business programme at
a range of levels in the ICT and digital
imaging area, which has provided the
initial impetus and groundswell for
the overall programme.
We develop and
manage a framework for engaging with
industry partners and creating
new qualifications incorporating leading
national education and training offerings.
We also offer specialist marketing
support in developing and managing
flagship events
to attract new audiences and build
a pipeline of training clients, leading
from knowledge transfer conferences
through
teaching seminars to in-depth professional
training sessions. |
Our
approach: |
We provide a seamless
additional resource to help broker
and take forward new and existing relationships
with industry partners, funders and
sector agencies and to conceptualise
and structure new training offerings.
Through a well developed network of
industry and sector contacts in the
ICT and digital imaging area, we have
been able to open up and fast track
new opportunities, managing risk on
behalf of the Skills for Business team. |
Results: |
Vendor alliances – The
Sheffield College helped Avid, the
world leader in digital media creation
tools, to develop and apply the Avid
Academic Partner Program in the UK
and the College was the first UK Academic
Partner. The College is also partnering
with Nikon to deliver cutting edge
digital photography training.
Flagship
events – Chaired by Microsoft,
the Large ICT Projects Conference in
May 2005 attracted over 170 delegates
from around the UK to South Yorkshire,
with input from Atos Origin, EDS, Fujitsu,
HP and PA Consulting. |
