of the ‘Zapstudio’ Digital
Multimedia Programme

| Zapstudio
is a specialist multimedia programme
for teachers and Key Stage 3 and 4 students
in schools. The programme
covers a range of multimedia disciplines
with a central music theme, building
on the connection that young people make
in everyday life between music, film,
games, graphic design and mobile technologies. Activities
are divided in to three strands: |
1.
BizDays
Students spend a day in Sheffield’s
Cultural Industries Quarter,
meet creative practitioners,
visit studios and experience
a hands-on specially customized
digital workshop with leading
practitioners.
2. ‘Tools,
techniques and trends’
Half day and full day digital
technology updates with hands
on for teachers,
technical support staff and arts peripatetics.
3. ‘Dare
to be Creative’ -

A series of special high profile
events, organised with globally
renowned design and media gurus
The Designers Republic, where students
put their questions to a panel
of top creative producers and practitioners
from the music and digital sectors,
on the theme of how to make a creative
life.
The Zapstudio activities
are expected to impact about
250 children and 40 teachers across
15 schools plus a number of
specialist staff and delivery
partners contributing
to the programme. College lecturers and students will also
participate in the ‘Dare’ events.
