Launch of the ‘Zapstudio’ Digital Multimedia Programme
Zapstudio is a specialist multimedia programme for teachers and Key Stage 3 and 4 students in schools.  The programme covers a range of multimedia disciplines with a central music theme, building on the connection that young people make in everyday life between music, film, games, graphic design and mobile technologies. Activities are divided in to three strands:

1. BizDays
Students spend a day in Sheffield’s Cultural Industries Quarter, meet creative practitioners, visit studios and experience a hands-on specially customized digital workshop with leading practitioners.

2. ‘Tools, techniques and trends’
Half day and full day digital technology updates with hands on for teachers, technical support staff and arts peripatetics.

3. ‘Dare to be Creative’ - read the Dare to be Creative Press Release
A series of special high profile events, organised with globally renowned design and media gurus The Designers Republic, where students put their questions to a panel of top creative producers and practitioners from the music and digital sectors, on the theme of how to make a creative life.

The Zapstudio activities are expected to impact about 250 children and 40 teachers across 15 schools plus a number of specialist staff and delivery partners contributing to the programme.  College lecturers and students will also participate in the ‘Dare’ events.
